A Kenyan citizen living in the United States of America has been charged with the rape of a 15-year-old girl roughly a block away from the area’s courthouse and jail facility.
According to reports, the perpetrator, Michael Muthee Munywe, 36, forcefully took the teenager to an ally and forced her to perform oral sex to him.
The brave girl, however, contacted the area’s dispatcher and informed them of the incident, where it was happening and what exactly she was wearing but pretended to be talking to her mother.
In the statement released by the prosecutor of the case, the police arrived at the scene and saw the little girl and the suspect talking but she had extreme distress signs. That’s when they pulled her away.
The court was further told that the girl had earlier arrived at a bus stop and found the man standing there who approached her and stated that he had missed her.
She, however, did not know who he was at the time. Munywe was charged with first-degree rape and first degree kidnapping with sexual motivation and was being held in jail on Kshs102 million bail.
In defence, he told the court that he had assumed the girl was in her 20s and only hugged her with no sexual relations ensuing at the time. He claimed to have spent only 10 minutes with the girl.
He had stepped out to buy a bottle of soda and Vodka shortly before the incident took place.
Munywe also claimed he moved to the US in 2014 and stayed at a house shelter.
