Details of trainee pilot aircraft that has crashed at Malindi

Life is full of lessons and adventures that are both thrilling and eye opening to the human mind.Sometimes a new door is opened but at times a door is unfortunately closed.

A trainee pilot has narrowly escaped death after a light aircraft he was flying crashed near Malindi airport on today.

The plane crashed on the roof of a house at Furunzi, a few metres from the runway. The pilot was alone.

The pilot was rushed to Malindi hospital in critical condition before being transferred to Mombasa for specialised treatment .

Hundreds of curious onlookers flocked to the scene. The aircraft was extensively damaged.

Police have taken up the matter with a view to establishing what caused the crash.

In September 2016, another light aircraft with two people on board crash-landed in a primary school in Malindi, Kilifi County.Luckily though there were no serious injuries.

The aircraft was said to have developed a mechanical problem while airborne.Unconfirmed reports indicated the instructor and his trainee were on a training mission when the incident happened.

However Kenyans still haven’t forgotten the flysax plane that crashed with 10 people on board.All 10 passengers of a small plane, whose wreckage was discovered in central Kenya two days after it went missing, died in the accident.

The plane, operated by East African Safari Air Express, took off from the western town of Kitale late on a Tuesday afternoon.

It disappeared off the radar screens at Nairobi international airport, its final destination, about 80 minutes later, the owners said in a statement.

Many lost their loved ones including two female pilots.
