Messi makes statement that will scare opponents away

FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has shattered several records and amassed every club title on offer with the LaLiga giants but this hasn’t stopped him from sending a strong warning towards the rest of Europe.

Messi, 31, has won a staggering 30 major titles with Barca since graduating from the club’s academy back in 2004.

With 566 goals in 651 games, the Argentina maestro is also ranked as the Blaugrana’s all-time record goalscorer, which has seen him pick up the Ballon d’Or five times.

Despite the distinguished list of honours, Messi insists football fans have not seen the best of him and revealed what he’d like to achieve with the rest of his career.

“My main goal is to keep growing and not to be content with what I’ve done, won or achieved,” he said at a promotional event for Unisports and Adidas.

“I want to get better each day and complete more objectives and win more titles.

“I consider myself very competitive. I like to win everything and don’t like to lose at all.

“I see myself more so as a player who controls matches, who participates a lot with the ball and who makes the play go more than I see myself as a goalscorer now.”
