The 10 over 10 show which is aired on one of Kenya’s local TV Station has raised a huge debate online on its standards and morality.
A couple weeks ago, the moral police had fired at the hosts and the show generally saying that it promotes immorality and rousing the youth sexually.
Earlier yesterday, the Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua seemingly held his fire back over the 10 over 10 show.
In his recent remarks, Mutua says that he cannot do anything about the show and urged parents to monitor and regulate what their children are watching.
Mutua expressed his worry saying that he suspects that children are also part of the audience that watch the show and therefore parents should be responsible.
“There is nothing I can do about 10 over 10 the only concern is that I suspect that there are underage children.
It is the responsibility of parents to tell their children to go to sleep after ten but parents don’t know sometimes when Kenyans complain, you still have to show them that you noted there was nudity and bad language and the dancing was not appropriate . but tell your children to go sleep what were they doing at 10?” Mutua said.
Kenyans joined in and gave their sentiments with some shouting that is should be banned while others indicated that the station responsible for airing that show should consider having more decent programs. Have a look at the reactions.
Reckless statement! Why does @EzekielMutua ban movies and adverts if parents can control their kids? They can still interact in social media or other channels. Really what value does the program add to the morality of the youth? @WillisRaburu, a full grown man, should be ashamed!

Mutua should then stop commenting on anything ‘bad’ it is our responsibility to avoid such…,i.e. we can avoid to watch TV or even buy. We can avoid looking at billboards. We can do the same to radio as well. Finally he admits he has no job to do.

@EzekielMutua should ban this nonsense coz it lacks merits. The most boring and unworthy programs in 67+ channels I have. Ujinga tupu

Most times that’s how moral decay begins, basically we expect some reasonable shows to motivate, inspire and empower especially the young generation since the show is dominated by the young people,We expect even more of guidance from the show not what’s displayed
