Governor Mike sends warning to illegal building constructors

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has sent out a warning to anyone who will be involved in construction of buildings that can pose danger to Kenyans.

This warning comes after his team took action on the illegal and faulty 7-storey building in Kayole. The building had cause a public uproar with many Kenyans calling for it’s demolition.

According to Sonko, his administration cannot sit back and watch as Kenyans get trapped in collapsed buildings because of corruption.

Sonko today ordered his team to bring down the condemned building, a task that was carried out by the now famous Sanny bulldozers better known as the “Green Mamba”

In a long post, Sonko  assured Nairobi residents that his administration values human safety and the county officials who were compromised, facilitated and approved the ongoing construction of the building will be shown the door.

“I appeal to members of the public to come out and report any building they suspect are not approved and not built to the required standards for immediate action to avoid loss of innocent lives and properties. I have put measures in place to ensure that there is strict adherence to building laws in the city.

To members of the public, be vigilant and report any suspicious building to my office, take a photo of the building, describe the location and WhatsApp me on 0722886600 Together we can make Nairobi safer.” he said

The cases of illegal construction of buildings are on the rise and with this move constructors should now be on the look out
