A mothers genuine love goes beyond the borders of the ocean truly. Many can not tell it all when they begin talking about the sacrifices they have seen their mums make just for their comfort and joy.

As reported by Tuko, residents gathered in Longisa said Jane had braved the morning sun heat and dust to stand in solidarity with her son during the exercise on Wednesday, November 21 since she could not afford bus fare.

On arrival to the venue just before the tough exercise began, Jane who looked haggard sat just few inches in front of other residents who had come to witness not knowing she had gotten into the temporarily restricted area demarcated by strings.

A hawk-eyed recruiting commander noticed the tired old lady who was struggling to recapture her breath and inquired what had brought her.

Trembling, maybe thinking she had literally crossed the line of the dreaded soldiers, Jane struggled to explain herself because she could not communicate efficiently in Kiswahili. “Nimekuja kumpa kijana yangu Motisia apate kazi. Ni yeye tu pekee yake niko naye. (I have come to give my son moral support because he is the only son I have,” replied Jane.

The woman’s sentiments seemed to break the hardened bones of the commander. He inquired who among the recruits was the woman’s son and the reaction got even more emotional.

The woman’s son stood up from the pack of bare-chested pack of youths and went to embrace her mum wondering why she had to walk all that long to be at the recruitment field. “You did not really to walk this far. I did not know you had plans to accompany me,” the boy said amid sobs.

The boy was successfully recruited to KDF and the woman did not have to walk the long stretch back home but dropped home with one of the military vehicles.

The Army commander gave his juniors instructions to assess the boy to his final end for the sake of the mother. She would later be offered a lift besides his son joining the qualified recruits.
