On Tuesday Members of the August house continued with the gender bill debate in Parliament that would allocate atleast a third of all seats in parliament to women.
The goodnews however is, the Bill has the backing of both President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga and are optimistic that it will pass.
However a few leaders are finding the gender bill as they say a waste of time, one 0f the leaders against the bill is Joshua Kutuny who was a strong ally of the deputy president but it seems the bromance is not as much as before.
In the meantime, political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has given his opinion regarding the much hyped gender bill.
While taking to his twitter account he said, “If the GENDER BILL does not pass, Article 261 of the constitution gives POWERS to Maraga to DISSOLVE Parliament. Given his HISTORY, Maraga WILL DISSOLVE Parliament. MPs should be AFRAID. Very AFRAID. https://“

Who came up with this gender clause in our constitution. What were they thinking? It’s not practical and it’s filling our parliament with slay queens

Way to go. Wish he can also dissolve plus the stones and bricks that build that house.

No parliament will be dissolved. Not in Kenya. #GenderBill is a useless bill that should be done away with. We must actually #AbolishArticle81B

I want to type something but my hands are tied completely, I may be attacked by so many people, Where is my FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION in these spaces!

So will the MPs pass the #GenderBill out of genuine interest for EQUALITY and CONSTITUTIONALISM or out of fear of DISSOLUTION? My guess is as good as yours

Let the parliament be dissolved, and women battle it out with men in their hunt for votes. Kwani iko nini?
