During this international break, Messi and his family have been on a short holiday in Dubai, where they visited a famous restaurant.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba, who is currently injured, went to the same place as Messi this weekend and was there at the same time.

A video of the two stars speaking rather animatedly to each other has done the rounds on social media over the past two days, and according to The Sun, their conversation was about the France national team’s song for N’Golo Kante that became popular after the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

In the song, the French players sing about how Kante single-handedly stopped Messi in their round of 16 clash in Russia.

Pogba is believed to have teased the Argentine about it in a friendly manner, with the FC Barcelona talisman responding with: “That’s a lie!”

Messi and Pogba seemingly share a mutual respect for one another, while the Frenchman has also often been linked with the Blaugrana.

Following victory in the World Cup final over Croatia, the France squad serenaded the Chelsea midfielder in a way to show appreciation for his efforts in helping them to emulate the 1998 team.

In truth, Kante didn’t play well in the final. It was easily his worst game of his tournament – arguably his poorest display for a number of years – and was substituted by manager Didier Deschamps in the 55th minute.

However, his importance in central midfield alongside Manchester United’s Paul Pogba en route to the final didn’t go unnoticed.

Given that Kante has been instrumental in two Premier League title-winning sides during his three years in English football, it is quite a surprise that Leicester City and Chelsea fans have created even more songs for him.

The chant created by the French players is beginning to catch fire and it might have something to do with the fact it contains lyrics which highlight how he stopped Lionel Messi in the round of 16 clash.

Other than his uncanny ability to read the game so well which allows the attacking players to shine, the other reason why Kante is so loved by Chelsea and France players – as well as fans from across the world – is his humility.

This was shown when Steven N’Zonzi made sure the Blues star got his time to have photos with the trophy as it said he was too shy to ask himself.
