Full Details of the 2018 KCPE results

Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed on Monday afternoon announced the  2018 KCPE results from the star of the sea school in Mombasa.

The Education CS announced a tie in the top candidate score during the 2018 KCPE examinations with at least 50% of the total number of candidates scoring 250 and above marks.

Two candidates tied at the top with 453 marks out of 500 in the tests carried out in three days.

In the 2018 KCPE exams, 527,294 were boys while there were 525,070 female candidates.

CS Amina noted that the performance had improved, with female candidates performing better than males in English, Kiswahili and Kenya sign language where as male candidates performed better in Maths, science and social studies.

12,273  candidates scored 400 marks and above , 228,414 scored between 301 and 400 marks, 573,927 scored between 201 and 300 marks, 234,573 scored between 101 and 200 marks where as 2,177 scored between 0 and 100 marks.

She however noted that the her ministry was carrying out efforts to ensure that candidates celebrate this year’s christmas while knowing their form one schools.

“It is a directive by President Kenyatta that all the candidates break for Chrismas while knowing the schools they have been selected to…There will be only selection, we will do it once and it shall be done well,” stated CS Amina.

The selection process shall kick off on Monday, December 3, 2018.
