Team Opera yesterday cemented its status as the best digital innovators in the Kenyan Market.

This is after they emerged winners in the 2018 Marketing Society of Kenya Awards in a gala event that was held at the Nairobi Arboretum.

Opera was awarded as the best marketing medium in the Digital Online Campaign after their popular Shake competition which was making headlines during the 2018 Russia World Cup.

An invention which had the objective to celebrate the global football competition and giving their consumers a chance to win and at the same time get an amazing experience of virtually participating in the best of world cup’s football moments.

Opera News during the world cup organized a giveaway in partnership with Jumia, the largest online store in Africa.

Giving a chance to their app users to win vouchers that could be exchanged for grand prizes like, smartphones, TV’s, watches, games & consoles, audio home systems and airtime just by shaking their phones during matches when using Opera News.

Speaking to one of the Opera News Officials, Halima Nsangou she mentioned that this is a huge deal for the team since it marks as the first award that Opera News has won ever since the establishment of their Kenyan office 6 months ago.

“This win is not just mine, it’s for the whole team. Having started the team with just two people, we are now 30 and this means we are doing something right.

Being the winners of the Digital Campaign Award and having no competitors in that category was the biggest win we’ve achieved.

I’m glad that in just 6 months, we’ve been able to prove to Kenya that we are the app to look out for when it comes to all digital content. And trust me, we have just began” she said
