“I Have Never Signed Any Contract With Gor Mahia”, Dylan Kerr Claims

Kerr claims that he has been working without any documented agreement. Former Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr did not have any written contract with the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions.

The tactician parted ways with K’Ogalo a few weeks to the new season, something that has not gone down well with the team supporters. The Englishman, who won two KPL titles with K’Ogalo confirmed that he has been working without any documented agreement.

“I did a letter, but not a resignation one because I did not have a contract. I was not given any by the management, giving me the freedom to walk away.”

Efforts to reach Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Aduda were unsuccessful as our calls went unanswered.  Kerr led Gor Mahia to its 17th  league title, two super Cup trophies as well as the group stages of the Caf Confederations Cup.

The news comes as a shock to many considering the heights the Englishman helped the green army hit last season.  K’Ogalo chairman Ambrose Rachier has been quoted by the club’s official portal saying the coach opted against continuing his job with the champions.

“I have today received a resignation letter from coach Dylan Kerr. On behalf of the club, l accept the resignation because he has been good and candid enough. As per his letter, he is going for greener pastures and l want to wish him all the best.”

In his resignation letter dated 15th November, Kerr says he will be taking another role and went ahead to thank the players for their exceptional performance last season.

“With a very sad heart, l have decided to accept another coaching role for the 2018/19 season.

“To players, all l can say is a thank you for being amazing – everyone played their part with fun, enthusiasm, hard work and most of all belief in what l demanded for both on and off the field. I hope you continue having the vision l constantly told you and always remember no regrets.”

This is definitely a blow for the club that is going to take part in the Caf Champions League.
