Tanzanian musician, songwriter and dancer from the WCB Wasafi Records label Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa, better known by his stage name Rayvanny, comes off as a man who woke up to success but the story behind the fame is a total inspiration. The artist was signed by WCB in back in 2015.

Rayvanny’s journey to stardom
Rayvanny revealed that his mother wanted him to be a doctor but he was passionate about music and that was the path he choose.
We have seen many talented artists whose career was barred after their parents disapproved.. for Rayvanny his mother gave him the support he needed.
Initially the artist started off as a rapper but many people used to tell him that it will take time before he is recognized for his rap music… this made him to take a U-turn and focus on Bongo music.
Rayvanny says that rap music is not given the respect it deserves in the East African Countries.
Rayvanny has been in the music industry for over 7 years now and has had major achievements over time. He says that the secret to his songs being hits is that he likes doing what his fans like and also doing something different different for his fans.
His first song under the label was “Kwetu”, in 2016 and it became an instant hit in East Africa.
Winning in the 2017 BET awards (International Viewers’ Choice) for him was one of his dream come true. It did not come so easy he said..but has promised his fans more to come. ” I have been working so hard but I promise my fans that 2019 will be a movie”
The artist said that he will soon be releasing a song featuring Diamond Platinumz titled ‘ Kesho ni Leo’
Among his major achievements the artists recently won as the African Entertainment Awards USA as the Best Vocalist 2018.
