Drogba is about to retire. 19 prizes! 100 goals in Premier League! What a legend!

In the US Sub-League (USL) final, Drogba’s Phoenix Rising lost to Louisville City by 0-1. This is the last game of Drogba’s career. The 40-year-old forward had previously said he would end his career after this season. Therefore, the game against Louisville was actually the last battle for him.

In the 20-year long career, he has gained a lot of honour. He started his career in the 98-99 season by being promoted from the Le Mans youth team to the Le Mans team. In the 04-05 season, he joined the Premier League giant Chelsea. Before joining Shanghai Shenhua in 2012, he scored 100 goals in the Premier League. He is the first African player to score 100 goals in the Premier League.

In addition, Drogba is the first player to score in four FA Cup finals. He has won 19 individual and team awards in his career. In the 2011-12 season, with Chelsea, he won the Champions League trophy. In the final, he scored a penalty which helped Chelsea be the champion.

Drogba is the all-time top scorer and former captain of the Ivory Coast national team. He is best known for his career at Chelsea, for whom he has scored more goals than any other foreign player and is currently the club’s fourth highest goal scorer of all time. Besides, he has been named African Footballer of the Year twice, winning the accolade in 2006 and 2009.
