‘Acha kulia kwa matanga na tufanye kazi!’ Uhuru destroys Charity Ngilu

President Uhuru Kenyatta has told of Kitui governor Charity Ngilu to stop making noise in funerals and visit his office with any requests and proposals to the problems facing her people.

You’re a leader. Leaders sit down talk before coming to the citizenry. Kutumia mazishi ndiyo unakuja kulia oh sijui maji. oh barabara’

Let’s sit down, talk and then tell people what we have decided to do. The president further insisted that his office is not closed and is accessible to all leaders. He was speaking in Pseikuru during the burial of Kalonzo Musyoka’s father Peter Kalonzo Mairu.

The Kitui governor had asked the president to assist residents from the region sale their green grams in the Indian market. According to Mama Ngilu, the Indian Prime Minister had put a stop to importation of Kenyan green grams therefore affecting farmers from the region.

The president also defended the rising national debts. Kenyans have complained about the loans the government has been taking which have subjected them to high taxation.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi had asked Uhuru to save the Kenyans from the run-away loans. But the president said that borrowing is the only way the government can breach the infrastructure deficit in the country.

“We must be cautious and prudent that we are not borrowing to consume but we are borrowing to grow and that must continue if we are to meet the infrastructure deficit that this country has.” Uhuru said.

He also defended his move to work with opposition leader Raila Odinga saying it was only to the best interest of Kenyans.

“Raila and I saw it best to come together because we knew when it comes to political fights it’s the citizens who get hurt. Despite our political differences we can’t allow Kenyans to lose their property and face tough economic times because of politics.”

He asked that all leaders come together for the benefit of Kenyans. “Every leader has something to contribute. All we need to do is give each other space and to recognize and respect one another”
