Tecno Mobile lands KCSE Candidates in Prison.

Why do candidates choose to steal instead of focusing on finishing of their exams? Maybe it is an early preparation for the outside life. When they walk down the streets they always hear in the corridors of how life outside school is hard. So they start equipping themselves early enough. But why in that sort of manner?

Two candidates have been placed on one year probation after they being found guilty of stealing two mobile phones belonging to officers manning the ongoing KCSE examinations.

The two students Bor Peter Dut, a Sudanese national and his Kenyan counterpart Michael Njenga Munene both from Heights Academy Thika, are reported to have stolen an Infinix Note 5 phone valued at 18,000 shillings from Eunice Wanjiku, a KCSE invigilator.

The two were arrested on Wednesday evening following a sting operation by the Kenya national examination council officials and the police and will be arraigned in Court on Friday.

This comes after Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed said those involved in exam leakage will not be spared.

The two suspects are said to be the masterminds of a cartel that has been leaking national examinations in recent years.

Amina also announced a raft of measures meant to secure the exercise including having school gates open during the exam period for easy monitoring.

Meanwhile an examination invigilator accused of interfering with examination materials has been arraigned before a Thika court.
