The fight against rape in Africa continues to  rage on  and more awareness and campaigns against rape come into play.

Rape victims on the other end have to fight the trauma, pain and struggle to heal and yet others never get the healing they crave for.. Some are forever reminded of the damage that was done and this could even affect their self- esteem among other challenging aspects.

In a recent incident  as reported by the citizensdailyupdates.com

A public conference was filled with emotions as Survivor of South Africa Rape Attack Show Scars , tell Emotive Stories

Phindile Ncube, the woman who was kidnapped, kept in a house in Tembisa and raped by eight men over several days years ago, recounts the horrors she suffered at the hands of the gang.

Ncube said she had to undergo five surgical operations on her stomach after being attacked by –including one procedure to remove plastic that had been inserted in her during the rape.

An emotional Ncube spoke of the pain of seeing her attackers back on the streets after serving only four years.

She lifted her black dress, leaving her abdominal area exposed for all– including President Cyril Ramaphosa–to see the scars. She wore nothing under the dress.

“Our lives can’t be paroled, Mr President. The minimum sentence for sex offenders must be at least 50 years,” Ncube said.

In Kenya we have heard of some of the rape cases taking so long before justice is served and the culprits brought to book.

Just yesterday, a lady confessed that she was one of the bogus doctor Mugo Wairimu’s victim since 2014 yet justice has still not been done even after recording a statement with the police. Mugo still remains roaming in the streets…

Anyone would agree with the statement by South African Victim that the sentence for sex offenders should be threatening enough for people to be afraid to commit the crime.
