See How Gor Mahia Players are Eating From their Enemy’s Pot

Whoever said that your talent could take you places was absolutely right. Gor Mahia players are currently having an unforgettable experience in Liverpool, England.

Despite being visitors and in fact the opposing side, Gor Mahia are being treated like bosses. The team has been showered with utmost respect  and kindness.

From being allocated a modern green bus to help them move around Liverpool to having a professional medical at Everton’s medical facilities, the players today had to chance to feed at Everton Players’ canteen.

“Right after training, it’s a quick shower (20 mins maximum) and straight to Everton’s players canteen for a quick bite (not lunch) then straight to Goodison Park to feel the pitch. This is the same canteen Everton players do use after their training and their diet is exactly what Gor players are having and almost with a similar program. What an experience!” read a statement from Gor Mahia’s Social media pages.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who is also Gor Mahia patron will be joining the team in Liverpool today.

Odinga, who is a staunch football fan and has been supporting the club for so many years will be landing in Manchester at 11.20am (2.20pm Kenyan time).

As confirmed by SportPesa Assistant Manager of Partnerships Liz Muragu, the former PM will be accompanied by SportPesa CEO Ronald Karuri and Permanent Secretary Kirimi Kaberia and former Football Kenya Federation and seasoned politician Peter Kenneth.

“The former Prime Minister, SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri, PS Kirimi Kaberia and Peter Kenneth will be landing at Manchester Airport at exactly 11.20am today,” Muragu told the official Gor Mahia website in Liverpool.

The team lauded the training ground with the head coaches wishing that the same facilities would have been made available in Kenya.

“This is absolutely amazing. Look at that grass, I mean if we had at least two of these back home, we would be unbeatable,” Gor Mahia FC assistant coach Zedekiah Otieno muttered.

His senior, Dylan Kerr joined in the conversation and said: “The quality of the pitch is amazing and seeing all these kids out to play on a Saturday morning brings joy to my heart.”
