Cartels are determined to flood the market with fake goods at the expense of Kenyans.

Detectives  in Nairobi  seized several bails of  expired  wheat flour in a house within  Sirangi in Nairobi’s  Dandora area  after they raided the house following  a tip off from members of the public.

It is feared that the flour is being sold out to unsuspecting members of the public

Detectives arrest two people repackaging expired wheat flour in Dandora

“Detectives yesterday raided a house within Siranga area in Dandora and recovered several Bales of expired Exe Wheat, Dola Wheat and Golden Wheat Flours that were being repackaged after expiring in July 2018.Two people arrested, Joyce Nyambura and Samuel Kamau,” the statement read

In a statement, DCI stated that the raid was conducted after a tip off, According to the sleuths, the flour had expired four months ago.

At the scene, several bales of Exe, Dola and Golden wheat flour were recovered and  two suspects believed to be running a syndicate distributing expired wheat flour.were arrested following the raid which was conducted yesterday.

The  two, Joyce Nyambura and Samuel Kamau, were found repackaging different brands of wheat flour which detectives say expired long times ago.

Its feared the  overdue flour is currently staked in retail shops and kitchen shelves.

Traders are now selling expired products,recently expired diapers were seized in a Go-down ready for the market after being repackaged.

Close  to 5000 bales of counterfeit and expired diapers in Eens Go-down and  Kapa in Mlolongo after they raided the go down following  a tip off from members of the public.

The Ezee pampers brand packaged in bails comprising of small,medium and large pampers which had already been repackaged  ready for sale  expired on February this year and the dates had been erased.

According to the police, the owner of the diapers had hired workers to stick fake Kenya Bureau of Standards (KBS) stamps on the diapers.

The Ezee branded diapers from China which had been distributed for some time by the criminals, had expired in February 2018. They were estimated to weigh 4 tonnes and were worth an estimate of KSh 30 million.
