As a norm, head teachers are required to collect exam materials for national exams from county commissioners every morning.

On Wednesday as the KCPE exams entered the second day, one of the head teachers ‘ate well, got satisfied’ and showed up at County Commissioner’s office to collect the exams.

The teacher, who was drunk was then immediately arrested.

Police in Ol Kalou have now been directed to immediately arraign the teacher who heads a private school for going to collect KCPE examination materials while drunk.

And do you know the main reason that made him get arrested immediately? The guy just arrived late and made demands that caused drama at an exam collection centre!

Nyandarua Central deputy county commissioner Gideon Oyagi said Peter Kamau Ndegwa, 59, was arrested after he caused drama demanding that he be served ahead of other school heads who had arrived way before him.

“We have directed that he be taken to court for misconduct,” Oyagi said adding that the teacher was replaced to ensure exams continue smoothly in the centre.

Ndegwa is the headteacher of South Wales Academy in Ol Kalou, just about 400 metres from the county commissioner’s office, but again he afforded to get at the offices late and ‘courageously’ drunk!.

A Senior police officer told the one of the local dailies that Ndegwa has been taken to a Nyahururu court where he would be charged with drunkenness.

Nyandarua Central Director of Education James Wahome declined to comment on the matter.

Several other arrests were also made today as KCPE exam papers from Olokurto center in Narok County went missing while on transit to eight examination centres.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC )  and the police have launched probe into the matter.

With this rate of incidents happening during the exam time, do you think credible results will be produced?
