The State House employee added the order accompanying Maribe and requiring her to be accompanied to her house by an investigating officer further complicated the process of getting clearance to have her out of prison. Jacque Maribe’s fiancee Joseph Irungu alias Jowie was denied bail by the court which cited he was a flight risk.
“Problem is after that we were told there is an order that upon release the investigating officer and the advocate will take an inventory of house. We argued that was upon release and they dropped that line. Next we needed a prosecutor from the Director of Public Prosecutions and none was willing to get on record,” Itumbi added. Justice Wakiaga also barred Maribe from reading news during the trial period of the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
