As news that Jacque Maribe has been released on bail continue hitting headlines, there is only one man who is over himself. That is non other than Sate House Director of Digital and Diaspora Communications Denis Itumbi.

Itumbi has several reasons to smile as he is the biggest winner amongst all the characters in this soap opera. First of all, the love of his life has been granted bail.

Justice James Wakiaga freed Maribe on a cash bail of Ksh. 1 million with three sureties of a similar amount or Ksh. 2 million bond with one surety of a similar amount.

The judge also ordered that Maribe should not read news, comment or do interviews during the time of the trial. Of course this will threaten her illustrious career but it will also give her a lot of free time. And I expect Itumbi to take advantage of this by being there for her.

After all, Itumbi has proved to be good at taking advantage of Maribe’s tribulations by pretending to be there for her with schoolboy poems and hugs in court. He can now hug her in private with no cameras.

Perhaps the biggest win for Itumbi is when the good judge sensationally denied Jowie bail. Justice Wakiaga said that Maribe’s gangster boyfriend has access to firearms and could create fear and intimidation among witnesses.

The judge event went ahead to describe Jowie as  “a male version of a slay queen. I would describe him as a woman eater.”

Now those are not very nice words, especially coming from a man in whose hands the fate of Jowie’s life lies.

But of course, one man’s meat is another man’s poison and in this case, Itumbi should have been praying for such an outcome. The man now Maribe all to himself and he has time to prepare on how he will poison the journalist’s mind.

It is so shameful for Itumbi to stoop so low but as they say, a man has to do what needs to be done and am not a saint myselt, therefore not in position to judge.
