A few hours after the Kenya Airways Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner touched down at the John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York in what was a historic flight between Kenya and the United States of America.
Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino spark a heated conversation, one that has been going on in the country for a while now, about how foreigners have been given top jobs that Kenyans are capable of.
Yaani a Kenyan pilot can fly a Boeing to JFK a distance of about 11,800kms but Chinese here wont allow our people to steer a mere locomotive from Syokimau to Mombasa?

“Yaani a Kenyan pilot can fly a Boeing to JFK a distance of about 11,800kms but Chinese here wont allow our people to steer a mere locomotive from Syokimau to Mombasa?” asked the MP in a tweet yesterday.
The Dreamliner was flown by a Kenyan team led by Captain Joseph Kinuthia and Eric Mbugua, assisted by Jobba Musa and Patrick Kipsambu.
The reactions to Mr. Owino’s tweet from Kenyans on Twitter were nothing short of hilarious.
The plane is ours…the train isn't.

The KQ direct flight from Kenya to US is the first of its kind in Kenya and the whole of East Africa that offers a non-stop flight between East Africa and the US making it the fastest connection from the region to New York.
The Dreamliner which received a water salute when it landed at the JFK Airport is expected to make its way back to Nairobi, at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport today.
