Roles Reversed as Cyrus Jirongo’s Hunter Gets Hunted For Fraud

Brian Yongo, the man who had former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo arraigned in court over a Sh20 million debt in August has been arrested.

Yongo was nabbed by policemen in Kileleshwa on Saturday for allegedly using a fake Range Rover logbook to get a loan of Sh4 million.

He is being held at Kileleshwa police station and will be arraigned on Monday.

The businessman will face charges of using false documents to obtain a loan.

Yongo had on July 2016 filed a bankruptcy case against Jirongo.

In the suit filed at the High Court in Milimani, Nairobi, the businessman said the former Lugari MP paid Sh10 million only leaving a balance of Sh15 million.

He said that on October 5 last year, he entered a consent with Jirongo on how he was going to settle the debt and that despite the agreement, he has never fulfilled it.

Yongo said that since Jirongo paid the Sh10 million, he had been evasive in settling the remaining amount.

Is it a case of the hunter becoming the hunted?
