Tana River man recently confirmed dissolving his one and a half year old marriage because his wife had served him with poorly cooked pilau.
According to the woman who was slapped with the divorce, her hubby loves pilau a lot and had been on her neck asking her to prepare him some.
Since the wife could not prepare well the spiced rice, she has been hiring people who know how to make it, something that infuriated her hubby who kept on insisting he needed to taste pilau cooked by her.
I have told him several times that however much I tried to learn how to prepare the dish, the recipe has not been turning out right for me. I needed more time, but this time he would hear none of it,” the wife, identified as Mariam Hiribae revealed.
However, her cooking did not impress the hubby who in turn claimed she was trying to kill him with bad food. Initially the hubby enjoyed pilau cooked by hired people but could not persevere the one made by his own wife. That was the best I ever did as a learner.” she added. Well, the hubby is said to have gotten so angry that the small misunderstanding turned into a quarrel and later a fight with the wife reported to have hit the husband with a stool on the head.
”He has never even pointed a finger at me, but when this time he lay hands on me, and accused me of wanting to kill him with a lot of spices in food, I was mad and I took a stool and hit him on the head” Mariam said.
