Prison is basically a home for criminals and lowlifes. Now imagine hanging around chicken rapists, arsonists and bank robbers. Will you think about sex?

But in this case, the other inmates are the ones supposed to be afraid of Jacque and Jowie. After all, they have been charged with killing Monica.

Monica’s throat was slit, in other words she was slaughtered like chicken. Her hands were tied behind her body and according to her family, she had also been raped. Now hanging around a person who is accused of such acts is a bit jittery.

Justice James Wakiaga set the date of ruling on their bail application for Tuesday, October 30 after the two pleaded afresh to the charge of murdering Monica, jointly with others not before court.

Lawyer Katwa Kigen has pleaded with the court to free Maribe, saying her application should be considered separately from that of her co-accused, Jowie.

While Jowie’s lawyers pleaded to have him freed on bail, the prosecution has described him as a flight risk because of his previous stay in Dubai and that he is a danger to himself because he had tried to kill himself.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, Justice Wakiaga declined to admit a Non-Governmental Organisation known as Empowerment Through Media in the case, saying proper procedure was not used.

It will be a long seven days for the couple until they see each other again. I just wonder what is on their mind at the moment? Are they thinking about the good memories they shared together.

And in case they are released, will they go home together for some make-up ***? Of course things are not straight at the moment because Maribe’s ex Denis Itumbi is now in the picture!
