Former Kenyan Premier League side Thika United captain Dennis Lewa “Yori” has been laid to rest today at his father’s home Tsagwa in Kaloleni constituency Kilifi County.
Lewa died on October 10, in the grisly bus crash that killed 56 people at Fort Tenan in Kericho county He was on his way to Kakamega Town where he was expected to sign a deal with Kakamega Homeboyz.
Thika United coach Gabriel Njoroge Kingi described Lewa as humble and a role model.
“Players used to look up to him for advice and inspiration especially during the hard times,” Njoroge said.
Lewa died on his 28th birthday Yori and has left behind a wife Magdalene Mutua and son Patrick Lewa.
Dennis joined Thika United at the start of the 2018 season having earlier played for Coast Stima FC.
