Manchester United given tips to stop Hazard

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has revealed how to nullify the threat of Eden Hazard ahead of  Chelsea’s clash against The Red Devils on Saturday 20th October.

Brown emerged from the Manchester United academy back in 1996 and went on to play at Old Trafford for 15 years before leaving for Sunderland. The defender amassed 23 caps for England and made 232 appearances for United.

Writing a column in Manchester United’s official website, Brown wrote on how to deal with Hazard.

“Eden Hazard is one of my favorite players to watch, to be fair. He’s started excellently. I think he’s carried on from what he did in the World Cup. I thought he had an excellent World Cup and this season for Chelsea, over the last few games, he’s been excellent.

“He’s definitely the star man and he’s one of those players who is so good on the ball. He’s so quick, he’s so tricky and he can produce a goal. That is what we’ve got to watch out for at the weekend.

“I like the idea of man-marking. I remember the manager, Sir Alex, asked me to do that against Messi and Barcelona one time, with help from the team! I think it is quite simple: the less that Hazard gets of the ball, the less of a threat he is, so if someone can get tight on him pretty early on then hopefully he passes the ball off every time or we get a tackle on him. That’s a good game plan because, even though Chelsea have started the season really well, he is definitely the main threat.”
