Ailing Hawa of “Nitarejea” hit song left stranded in Tanzania

 

Ailing Tanzanian singer  Hawa Mayoka was barred from traveling to India for further  treatment.

Hawa who is suffering from a liver-related disease and was to be flown to India for treatment after recommendations by doctors in Tanzania.

The singer  was left stranded at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam after immigration officers refused to let her fly without a doctor’s report showing what she was ailing from.

she was in the company of Diamond’s manager babu Tale and her mother Ndagina Said.

Speaking to media, Babu Tale said that they were about to board the flight when they were blocked by authorities.

“They  could not let us fly due to lack of Hawa’s medical report. They have asked us to get the report before we can fly,” he said

The singer is yet to receive clearance to travel to India.

Hawa has been ailing for sometime without proper medical care and earlier this month Diamond offered to pay for her full medical treatment.

 

 

She is  famed for the hit song ‘Nitarejea’ featuring Diamond Platnum .

Diamond Platnumz  early October annsh50 million (Ksh2.2 million).

 

 

 

“Due to my financial woes, I had lost hope in getting treatment. The doctors in Tanzania had advised me to seek medical treatment in India. And now, the hope in me is restored after Diamond [Platnumz] offered to fly me to India for treatment,” Hawa told Tanzania’s Ijumaa Wikienda.

Hawa’s mother, Ndagina Said, thanked Diamond Platnumz for his kindness.

“May God bless Diamond. It is because of his deed that my daughter’s life will be saved,” said Ms Said.

Hawa has been battling a liver-related disease, which has reportedly been caused by excessive drinking.
