Ex-Gor Mahia speaks highly of Harambee Stars

Former Gor Mahia coach Frank Nuttall has sent his congratulatory message to Harambee Stars and his former players following their impressive 3-0 win over Ethiopia in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday 14th October.

Nuttall’s reign at Gor Mahia lasted just under two years from 2014 to 2016 and won the 2015 title unbeaten a feat that hasn’t been achieved in the new Kenyan Premier League area.

Aside from winning the KPL title, the Scotsman guided K’Ogalo to the KPL Top 8 Cup and Kenyan Super Cup titles.

In a Facebook post, Nuttall lauded Kenya for the victory, more so his former players.

“Well done to Kenya for 3-0 win v Ethiopia.  Great to see my former players, Olunga, Kahata, Musa Mohammed and Ouma in the team – well done lads! I also remember when so many people criticised me for continuing to select Olunga when he did not score at the beginning.  I asked them to trust my judgement.  In total, he scored 35 goals for Gor Mahia and Kenya in that 2015 season and was KPL Player of the Year.”
