Earlier last month, The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) froze Migori governor Okoth Obado’s bank accounts over what they are terming as an intricate web of looting of Ksh 2.5 billion. A move that was partly criticized since it came at a time when the Governor had been arrested over the murder of Sharon Otieno.
A section of Kenyans had accused the commission of double standards. They also complained that the EACC was taking advantage of the other charges he had been implicated with. Kenyans claimed that the allegations of looting money had no connection to the current charges.
In a statement, the anti-graft body said it also froze bank accounts belonging governor Obado’s brothers; Jared Peter Odoyo Oluoch Kwaga, Ernest Omondi Owino and Joram Opala Otieno.
According to EACC, the said web has seen county funds transferred to his children’s accounts in Australia, Hong Kong and China.
A section of Kenyans have however brought it up again after today’s court hearing where Obado’s lawyers were demanding for his release on bail. A section of Kenyans have demanded that the EACC should follow up on the looting case incase Obado’s charges will be dropped.
The EACC is still on his neck though!he has never been mentioned coz those who knew about his crimes chose to keep quite, waiting for the finals

PHOTOS: More than Sharon’s murder, which Obado must be prosecuted for to its logical conclusion; the worst is the theft of over Ksh2 billion for which DPP/DCI/EACC have successfully FROZEN his accounts and those of his accomplices: 1/2 @matundura78 @MboyaApollo pic.twitter.com/wawlyJ21QW
