SHOCK! Chilling Details of How Lamu Man Killed Wife and Confessed to Inlaws

A man in Lamu is alleged to have killed his wife after a domestic issue and then confessed the crime to his inlaws.

Police are holding Samuel Muhuri, 33 who is alleged to have killed his wife by strangling and the hiding her body in their house in Gadeni for three days.

The man was arrested shortly after he was handed over to the police by his in-laws whom he had confessed to killing Janet Wambua Nyaga, 34. Area police boss Juma Londo says the event happened on Wednesday.

“Police broke into the house which was locked from outside. We found a wire tied tightly around the woman’s neck,” Londo said.

He said the woman’s neighbors reported the matter after she went missing and could not be reached on the phone.

“Police found the decomposing body in the living room. The suspect, who is being held at Mpeketoni police station, faces a murder charge,” Londo said.

The police boss asked couples to resolve their differences amicably instead of resorting to murder or suicide.

Samuel’s neighbour Zablon Wanje said the couple hosted a party in their house a day before the killing.

The revelations comes at a time when the country is dealing with rising deaths of women in love related murders.

Two women, Sharon Otieno and Monica Kimani were killed were brutally murdered under different circumstances in September.

On Thursday, during the burial of celebrated Benga musician Joseph Kamaru, ODM leader Raila Odinga lamented about the rising killings of women.

Odinga specifically highlighted the killing of Monica Kimani, whose body was found in a bathtub in her Kilimani apartment and that of Sharon Otieno, the Rongo University student who was seven months pregnant.

“We are seeing young women being beaten and killed. Kamaru would not have wanted to see such things,” Odinga said.

Both cases left many Kenyans puzzled due to the brutal manner the women lost their lives and have led to arrests of notable people. Kimani’s throat was slit, hands tied, and mouth masked while Otieno was raped and stabbed eight times.

In both cases, police have arrested suspects who are facing murder charges.

In Otieno’s murder, Migori Governor Okoth Obado is still in remand awaiting a ruling on his bail application on Friday, after he pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

Other suspects including his personal assistants are also in custody. Kimani’s murder case is set to kick off on Monday when the prime suspects, journalist Jacque Maribe and her fiancé Joseph Irungu alias Jowie take plea.
