‘One time he stayed in the office for 72 hours!’ Alai Reveals why Stephen Mumbo killed himself

PwC issues statement on Manager who died after falling from 17th floor

Stephen Mumbo, the man who committed suicide by jumping from the 17th floor of the Price Water House Coopers (PWC) is said to have been frustrated by harsh working environment and an inconsiderate boss.

This is according to blogger Robert Alai who claimed that the man, who until his untimely demise was the  assistant manager of the firm was overworked by his boss.

“One time Stephen Mumbo stayed in office for 72 straight hours. Another time, 64 straight hours.” Alai said on his Twitter handle.

According to the blogger, the pay at the international audit was good but no life beyond that.

Witnesses said Stephen Mumbo was seen jumping off the 17th floor of the building even as a crowd started gathering around the area.

“Yes it is true. The man jumped off the building and we can’t say that he committed suicide,” Kilimani OCPD Michael Muchiri told the Star on Friday.

Muchiri said the man died when he was being taken to Aga Khan hospital. He noted that officers are still on the ground to establish what happened.

In an email from the management to the staff members, Regional Senior Partner Peter Ngahu mourned Mumbo.

“It is with great sadness that announce the that we have lost one of our own. We are all in a state of shock and disbelief,” Ngahu said.

“Our collective grief and sense of loss at this time is profound; but it cannot compare to what Steve’s family must be feeling.”
