Former President Mwai Kibaki Now into Betting Business

Former Prsident Mwai Kibaki’s family through his son Jimmy Kibaki, has ventured into the multi-million betting industry.

As confirmed to Let’s Bet by Mathare United Football Club’s CEO Jecton Obure, Jimmy is the Chairman of the OdiBets, the new entrant into the game.

Obure confirmed this moments after his club penned a Sh60 million sponsorship deal with the gaming firm at a Nairobi hotel. “Jimmy Kibaki is the chairman,” he said, explaining how the partnership has rescued Mathare United and boosted their chances of performing better in the Kenyan Premier League’s 2018/19 season.

“This partnership has come at our hour of need. And for sure, it will motivate us for a better show next season,” Obure said.

Odibets now gets into competition with the likes of SportPesa, Betika, Betin, 1XBet and many others. Already, its presence has started being felt going by some of its adverts on billboards. Key is one mocking an English Premier League club which has gone viral on social media.

It will now be fascinating to see how the new kid fights out its space in an already flooded environment.

A quick check by Let’s Bet showed that the online and mobile betting platform avails odds for a number of sports, just like its competitors, including football, basketball, Tennis, Hockey, Rugby, Cricket, American football, Futsal, Volleyball, Boxing, Baseball, Handball, Snooker.
