President Magufuli Condole’s With Victims of Fort Tenan Accident

Tanzanian President John Magufuli has sent a message of condolence to Kenyans following the Kericho accident that left 56 people dead.

Dr. Magufuli took to Twitter on Wednesday, offering his message of support to President Uhuru Kenyatta, families of the deceased and those injured.

“Nimepokea kwa masikitiko taarifa ya ajali ya basi iliyotokea Kericho nchini Kenya na kusababisha vifo vya watu zaidi ya 50. Nakupa pole Mhe. Rais Uhuru Kenyatta, familia za marehemu na Wakenya wote. Mungu aziweke roho za marehemu mahali pema na majeruhi wapone haraka. @UKenyatta” tweeted President Magufuli


The East African Community (EAC) also issued a statement through the Secretary General Amb. Liberat Mfumukeko.

“We mourn the demise of our beloved brothers and sisters who perished in this accident. We also wish speedy recovery to those passengers who sustained serious injuries in the accident.

“The entire EAC and I share with the bereaved families, and the Government and people of Kenya, the feelings of great loss at this time of deep sorrow,” read the message.

The Kericho accident occurred on October 10, a day that had been set aside for the country to celebrate its longest serving President Daniel Moi. The accident left more than 50 people dead with others severely injured.
The owner of the ill-fated bus has so far been arrested and will be arraigned in court. Police established that the “Homeboyz Bus” was not licensed to operate at Night.
