Manchester United could be without a manager by the end of Thursday as crunch talks are set to take place, if reports are to be believed.
More damaging claims have been mentioned on several manchester United stars should Mourinho stay on as manager, reports have continued to grow that the club are considering an approach to appoint former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane as his successor.
Reports on Monday suggested Mourinho wanted United to publicly offer him their support, but The Sun suggests Mourinho is concerned that United are making ‘contingency plans’ to appoint his successor
Now, the Express are claiming that Ed Woodward is “stalling on the axe”, but that the pair will “sit down for showdown talks today”.
In addition, they state that “the worst case scenario would see the club looking for another new manager” with Mourinho feeling “entitled” to backing in the transfer market.
“He wanted five signings, but the club delivered just three. Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant,” the report continues, before adding that Mourinho “wants two defenders as a show of faith”.
Mourinho has in recent times received numerous critics from the fans who feel he has failed to deliver and retain Manchester at its position in the European Football. Mourinho has lost several matches of late including an a shaming defeat by Westham 3-1.
Most fans want the chosen one to be sent packing and be replaced by a new flavor who will manage the roles at the Old Trafford.
Most other players who have failed to perform are also linked to be released by the club at the end of the season.
Lukaku who was signed from Everton is in the edge of leaving the club after failing to click in the club. Lukaku has been missing numerous chances for the club that most fans have questioned his fitness to start a game where the club has the likes of Rashford who is sharp and always looking to score.
Phil Jones who is suffering from an injury is also linked to be the way to his exit. Jones also in the start of the season failed to prove his strength in the defense line of Manchester United which is not stable.
On the defense Luke Shaw has improved and booked himself a starting eleven in the recent times. The left wing has been the most promising player in the team so far having been involved in creating of various scoring chances.
Pogba has had a number of challenges with Mourinho. He was relieved of his role as the assistant captain for Manchester.
Sanchez and Lingard have also experienced goal drought which was the situation last season. Martial who was on the verge of leaving the club has proved his value for the club .
Since the start of the season Mourinho has been struggling to get his first eleven. With the new talents joining the club, Fred in the midfield Mourinho has always been wavering not being able to find his starting side especially in the midfield where he have many options including Fellaini, Hererra , Fred, Pereirra, McTominnay and Pogba.
