Why Matiang’i Summoned Security chiefs on Moi Day

Security chiefs have been today Wednesday October 10 summoned by the interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i following an attack by militants in Mandera county that left two teachers dead.

The attack happened on the morning of the celebrated Moi Day.

The two teachers were working at Arabia High School where they were killed on Wednesday morning, raising concerns that more attacks could have been planned during the national exams expected to begin from October 29.

The area has been experiencing security problems over a long period of time considering the fact that it borders Somalia which poses a security threat from Al Shabaab Militia.
