Al Shabaab militants kill Two teachers in a dawn attack

Two non local teachers were Wednesday morning killed after suspected Al Shabaab militants attacked and torched Arabia Boys High School in Mandera East. The militants are said to have raided the school at around 1am.

This was during the wee hours of the morning at Arabia Boys Secondary School where the explosive set off a fire killing the teachers.

The news was broken by the National Police Service whose statement read “This morning at about 1 am at Arabia Boys Secondary School in Mandera county, suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists threw an explosive device at a teacher’s house that had two teachers setting off a fire that sadly killed the two teachers.”

The NPS disclosed that the Police Reservists engaged the attackers but they fled. “Police Reservists guarding the school engaged the attackers who then fled as more reinforcements were mobilised. All other teachers and students are safe and no other part of the school was affected. The hunt for the attackers is ongoing,” read the rest of the statement.
