Jowie,Maribe love story brewed in the bar and ending behind the bar

Former Citizen TV’s Journalist Jacque Maribe met her fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie in one of the famous city clubs during a party where they fell for each other.

The duo started dating and within a  period of three months, they again met at a club in the city where they held a colorful event which they streamed live on Instagram.

The even saw Jowie propose to Maribe, and that is how the love story began.

The couple is said to have been living together occasionally, mostly in Maribe’s residential house in Lang’ata.

This would happen only if Jowie who is believed to have been working in Dubai and Afghanistan as a security agent jests back in the Country.

Their love started turning soar after Maribe broke the news about the murder of Monica Kimani Nyawera in Kilimani on Citizen TV.

Monica was found with her hands and legs tied, mouth gagged and throat slashed. Her body was deposited in a bathtub at her apartment in Kilimani, Nairobi.

Maribe and Irungu were then arrested in connection with the killing, hence, their arraignment on Tuesday.

Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji had Tuesday morning  ordered Maribe and her fiancé Joseph Irungu, popularly known as Jowie, to be charged with the murder of the businesswoman.

They however did not take a plea since the TV anchor is yet to undergo a mental assessment. They’ll be remanded until October 15.

Justice Jessie Lessit of Milimani Law Courts ordered for Maribe to undergo mental check up then remanded at Lang’ata women Prisons.

According to the law, any person who conspires with any other person to kill any person, whether that person is in Kenya or elsewhere, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for14 years.

The law also states that any person who counsels or procures another person to commit the offence may be charged with the same offence.

A conviction of counselling or procuring the commission of murder attracts the same consequences as a conviction for the offence.

Maribe has been implicated in Monica’s murder by her conduct and association with prime suspect ‘Jowie.’

Once convicted of murder, a person is sentenced to death by hanging.

A conviction requires the prosecution to establish the intent to cause death and knowledge that his or her action or inaction will cause death, among other things.

If it happens, Maribe- Jowie love may just end up behind the bars.
