Will Obado get Released after Migori by elections?

Migori county is set to have senatorial by elections on Monday October 8 following the demise of former senator Ben Oluoch okello who succumbed to throat cancer in June 2018.

The seat that has attracted six Candidates has seen the battle look like a two horse race between Orange Democratic Movement Party candidate Ochilo Ayacko and Federal Party of Kenya candidate Eddy Oketch Gicheru.

Eddy is believed to be Governor Okoth Obado’s endorsement as Ayacko is NASA leader Raila Odinga’s candidate.

Obado has been and is still in custody following the case of the gruesome murder of the Rongo University student Sharon Beryl Otieno.

The Migori County boss will be arraigned in court on Monday for hearing into his bail application which he has been denied before by Justice Jessie Lessit.

However, Obado on Friday filed another application seeking to be released citing his health condition as worsening due to lack of medical attendance following a back problem that e has been suffering from since 2013.

It is however speculated that Obado’s detention is politicized following the Monday senatorial by elections.

Speculators say that  it was Raila’s plan to have Obado detained so as to bar him from campaigning for his preferred candidate Eddy.

Raila and his ODM brigade camped in Migori last week with Raila traversing in the county on Thursday and Friday campaigning for his candidate Ayacko.

On Sunday Ayacko briefed the media praising the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission( IEBC) for its preparedness to conduct the elections.
