VIDEO: Mutahi Ngunyi reveals Raila’s Government Key Position after Referendum

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has revealed NASA Leader Raila Odinga’s key position in the government should the referendum calls succeed.

ccording to Ngunyi, Odinga will certainly be the fifth President of Kenya, although it will be a ceremonial figure.

Ngunyi notes that Raila’s ability to foretell change is unmatched hence his view on the rumoured referendum will certainly come to pass.

“Regarding the politics of change, Raila is the grand-master. Nobody can smell change as freshly he does,” he stated.

Ceremonial President and an Executive Prime Minister Position

Mutahi further opined that the ODM leader will certainly be in the next government “It is cast in stone”.

In his view, the referendum will create both a Ceremonial President and an Executive Prime Minister Position with Raila likely to take the latter.

As a Ceremonial President, Mutahi is for the idea that Raila’s roles will include presiding over public events including giving state honours and awards.

Besides, Raila will be also a symbol of national unity and figurehead like the Queen in the UK.

“His job will be to inspire patriotism. And at the age of 80-years, he will do this job with grace,” he stated.

Although exuding confidence on the referendum and the new positions, Mutahi was cagey on who will take that position.

Ceremonial President and an Executive Prime Minister Position

In his view, Raila, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have chances of taking either the Ceremonial President post or be the Executive Prime Minister who will head the government.

Peculiarly, however, out of all the possible combinations that Mutahi drew for each position, Ruto is given the post of Executive Prime Minister either under Uhuru or Raila and not the post of a Ceremonial President.
