Is Moha Jicho Pevu new DP Ruto’s second hand spanner boy?

Former investigative journalist Mohammed Ali alias Moha Jicho Pevu, and now the Nyali Member of Parliament has of late raised speculations among Kenyans over his engagement with Deputy President William Ruto.

The legislator who used to be Raila Odinga’s ally in the past 2017 polls surprised Kenyans with his tune of change that has gone against his promise to Kenyans.

Moha Jicho Pevu had promised Kenyans that he was to continue with his investigative reports dubbed Jicho Pevu in the parliament.

Dealing with and exposing the cartels and corrupt leaders was one of his objectives when he clinched Nyali parliamentary seat, but he has been seen handling DP Ruto’s cash.

On Sunday, the Nyali legislator clarified an incident where he handled Deputy President’s money resulting in ridicule.

The Nyali legislator strongly refuted snide comments that labelled him as the DP’s “new second-hand spanner boy”.

He courted the aggressive social media shout down after he passed over a Ksh5 Million donation made by the DP to a church at the coastal region.

“I was seated at the front row of the church and I was tapped on my shoulders by his handlers to pass it across to him. If this is a crime so be it,” he explained during an interview with The Standard.

When he was reminded that the law shuns the promotion of tokenism by public officers, the first time parliamentarian claimed that the question was unfair.

“It is unfair to load that on me when you know I am not the police, a prosecutor or a judge. There are many arms of government to check on all these and unfortunately, all of them have a dent.

“Should I tell people not to receive money? I am not a Christian… It’s up to them to set the standards,” he defended himself.

“I pleaded my case to party organs and to Baba to no avail. I went in as an independent, won and fought the election petitions alone. My constituency has since been starved of all its entitlements at the county government of Mombasa.

“I was knocking on every door where I could find help for my people, the DP’s door was one of them. I have never been bought and I will never be bought. I will work with saints, criminals, prostitutes if that is what it will take to help my people,” he declared.
