Is this the case where the dead rob the living? Well some Kenyans feel so in reaction to the emerging details about the burial is the Slain Sharon Otieno.
This comes days after Obado denied that he was involved in Sharon Otieno’s murder in the previous case, Judge Jessie Lessit ruled against his favour and he was denied bail. He remains in custody pending the next hearing of his case.
Sharon Otieno’s lifeless body was found near Kodera Forest in Homa Bay two days later and an autopsy report revealed that she had been stabbed eight times. This is after she was reported missing on September 3, 2018 after a meeting with Nation journalist Barack Oduor at a Migori hotel. The journalist, claimed that they were abducted from the hotel and he managed to escape by jumping out of the vehicle.
Kenyans have have strongly faulted the planed expenditure for Sharon Otieno’s burial as announced earlier today on social media. A story done by Citizen Digital revealed Sharon’s burial details indicating that she will be laid to rest on the 19th of October.
Earlier, the family had stated that she was not going to be buried until the murderers are charged. Following recent developments, Her body is expected to be brought out of the mortuary on October 18, from Kirindo Hospital in Mbita. The funeral will then be held the following day at the grandfather’s home in Magare Village, Kanyabala location. The burial committee revealed that the burial is set to cost 1 M.
Here are Kenyans thoughts in regard to the cost.
Back in the day I read an article “how the dead rob the living”. It is not about common sense. It is a practice that precedes our time.

Why should Sharon Otieno’s family spend Kshs 1 million for burial? Even if she she carried a governor’s baby, this is so expensive!
A time of grief isn’t an opportunity to make merry at the expense of the deceased.

So, reportedly Sharon Otieno will be buried at a budget of 1M. Now, my question is, who in their right mind spends so much in these economic times. Si kwa ubaya, but watu watumie pesa wisely.

Honestly it’s too expensive for a burial.
What’s so important they are burying that cost that much?
I mean I know we all will die at one time but is it worthied to spend that money??— Versace (@Versace76877101) October 3, 2018

Sharon Otieno Why would a person in their right senses use 1M to burry a dead person and at the same time be sleeping in a mud house??? Isn’t this what’s called stupidity?? 100k or less is enough for the burial..
