New statement; move to get Maribe off the hook?

Monica Kimani’s murder case has resulted to a heated  debate and questions as the narrative seems to take a different twist upon the details that are emerging following the investigations that are ongoing. The police had earlier revealed that investigations will be extended to South Sudan where Monica is said to have had a business.

Kenyans have reacted to recent statement by Maribe which seems to contradict her previous one.  Her fiancee Joseph Irungu was arrested as the first suspect in the murder. Both Maribe and Irungu are in police custody pending the hearing of the case.

Citizen TV celebrity anchor Jacque Maribe may not be charged with the late Monica Kimani’s murder but might become a prosecution witness against her fiance, Joseph Irungu, alias Jowie.

Earlier, in a self-recorded statement, which is said to have been presented to Kilimani DCI officers, Maribe detailed how she and her fiance were trailed by gunmen, whom she accused of shooting Irungu.

A similar report had been filed at the Lang’ata police station by Maribe and Irungu, blaming the motorbike criminals for the shooting.

Kenyan have questioned her new statement and the consequences linked with the same.
