“Was IPSOS report meant to tarnish Waiguru’s name just as the Kabura Affidavit?”

Was IPSOS report meant to tarnish Waiguru’s name just as the Kabura Affidavit? This is a question that  was brought up after the stir on social media which was triggered by claims that Kabura gave false information in the affidavit. Earlier today, Kirinyaga County governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru has asked authorities to investigate Josephine Kabura for giving a false sworn statement about the National Youth Service first scandal.

Waiguru noted that Kabura should reveal who pushed her to author a damning affidavit on the NYS scandal which the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) claims were false.  The governor observed it was not enough to charge Kabura with lying under oath adding she should name who she was working with. After the EACC conducted an investigation with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, it was revealed that no evidence was found to support the affidavit.

This revelation has resulted to  heated debate as Kenyans have raised questions that they demand the EACC to clarify after further investigations.

“Who was NYS suspect Josephine Kabura working for? Where did she take the ‘looted NYS money’ in the sacks?” Kenyans have also stated that they want the masterminds behind NYS 1to be brought to book.

In an IPSOS synovate poll that was released a couple months ago, It was revealed that 33 per cent of Kenyans believe that the DP is one of the corrupt influential people followed closely by Kirinyaga county Governor Anne Waiguru at 31 per cent.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru fought back saying that she will sue research firm IPSOS Synovate for releasing a survey report indicating that Kenyans perceive her as the second most corrupt in Kenya. “I will this say to IPSOS: Shame on you. Shame on you for pushing an agenda that you know very well is political. I have never been taken to court because of any matter regarding corruption. So you cannot come and say that I am the most corrupt,” said Waiguru,

Some leaders also weighed in claiming that the survey details was only meant to distract Kenyans.

Kenyans have also demanded to know who Kabura was working with because they feel that this is something that was not planned by her alone.
