Some Kenyans on twitter feel that the recent revelation involving former President Mwai Kibaki; could be a strategy set to distract Kenyans from the state of the nation.
This comes days after Former Head of Public Service Francis Muthaura revealed that retired Kibaki used his influence to give his two grandchildren scholarships at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia.
Muthaura also revealed that the money was set aside to pay for the expense of Ian and Sandra’s education whose dad had lost his job at that time. The father of the two, who Muthaura identified as Githinji, is the retired President’s nephew and had lost his job at a local company dealing in petroleum products at the time he needed to take his two children to school
The debate continues as some Kenyans demand that he should be charged with abuse of office, others want the money returned with interest but some have come out to defend the former President saying that it was all done in good course. In Kibaki’s defense Kenyans have said that this scandal revelation has been brought into light as a plan to distract Kenyans from the current happenings within the country.
