REVEALED! Most ‘CORRUPT’ Government Ministries & Institutions Released By EACC

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has released a list of most corrupt Government Ministries and Institutions during the launch of the National Ethics and Corruption Survey. According to the EACC, The Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government ranked first as the most corrupt at 64.7%.

Top 10 most corrupt Government Ministries & Institutions released

1. Interior and Coordination of National Government – 64.7%

2. Health – 27.8%

3. Land, Housing and Urban Development – 23.9%

4. Transport and Infrastructure – 13.0%

5. Education, Science and Technology – 11.7%

6. Devolution and Planning – 10.3%

7. Defence – 7.1%

8. Finance – 6.6%

9. Water and Irrigation – 5.1%

10. Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries – 4.5%

Government Institutions

In government institutions, Kenya Police was ranked as the most corrupt with 23.8% followed by the National Police Service Commission (13.7%), Public Hospitals (9.8%), Kenya Revenue Authority (8.2%), National Land Commission (7.3%), National Transport and Safety Authority (4.9%) and Immigration Department (4.3%).

The survey showed that those who paid bribes to obtain service in public offices increased markedly to 62% from 46% posted in the 2016 Survey.

The National Ethics and Corruption Survey 2017 overall objective was to provide data that will feed the anti-corruption strategy in the country.

It covered 47 counties with 5977 household respondents and 15 Key informants and was conducted from 18th September to 24th October 2017.
