woman who Killed an 8 year Old Girl in Kibera Gets Safaricom Job

Safaricom has re-appointed controversial Sylvia Mulinge as the director in charge of special projects months after her appointment as the Managing Director of Vodacom Tanzania failed to take off.

Before her appointment to the big position in Tanzania, she was the director for Safaricom’s consumer business unit.

Tanzanian authorities refused to grant Mulinge a work permit on grounds that there are Tanzanians who can do the job. Ms Mulinge was to take over from the outgoing MD Ian Ferrao, a UK nationality.

She will now be the Safaricom’s director of special projects as her re-appointment begins next week (October 1) and will be reporting directly to CEO Bob Collymore.

Mulinge has attracted controversy in recent past after she was accused of killing a minor through a high-speed road crash in the slums of Kibera adjacent to the Southern bypass in Nairobi in 2015.

On that fateful day, Mulinge was behind the wheel of the Prado KBU 483M, registered to Safaricom Ltd. Reports have it that the family of the minor has never received justice.
