Arsenal ex-chief Ivan Gazidis set to raid former club Top Welsh Midfielder Ramsey

ARSENAL star Aaron Ramsey is being targeted by AC Milan as Ivan Gazidis looks to raid his former club in his first move in his new job, according to reports.

The South African businessman kept the club in the dark over his intentions after it emerged that he could leave for Serie A in the summer.

And it has taken him two months to finally decide tho call quits on his time at the Emirates after 10 years as chief executive.

It comes after a seismic period in the club’s history following a rebuilding programme, including a new manager and several backroom staff changes.

Arsene Wenger made way in the summer after 22 years at the north London outfit and Unai Emery came in to replace him.

And Milan are the best-prepared side to make a move, with Gazidis playing a pivotal role in the transfer – according to CalcioMercato.

It would be the 54-year-old’s first major action in his new role in Italy and would leave a lot of Arsenal fans upset.

Ramsey is a fan favourite at the Emirates whereas Gazidis was not often looked at with as much love.

Gunners legend Ian Wright has blasted the Milan supremo after the prolonged saga overshadowed Arsenal’s start to the season.

“I think that’s the make-up of the guy,” Wright told Sky Sports when asked why he believes Gazidis has chosen to leave.

“He feels this is the time to leave when really this is the time they needed a CEO to steer the ship.

“I’m quite pleased he’s gone because it shows the person he is, that’s not the kind of person we need at Arsenal.

“We need someone to fight for the fans and someone who can get us back to where we want to be.

“History will judge him and it will be unfairly because I don’t think he’s done very well for us.”
