An afternoon surely to forget for Juventus’ Douglas Costa, that in all likelihood will take have negative impact on the player.
In addition to the ugly gesture of spitting to Federico Di Francesco (for which the Brazilian received a direct red), the Juventus player could now be the subject of a TV test for other misconduct against the player of Sassuolo during the Old Lady 2-1 victory, after a request from FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Pecoraro.
Douglas Costa (who immediately after the match apologized via Instagram to the Juventus fans), has in a comment responded to a fan to tell his version of the facts about what happened on the field: “I have woken up at 5 am since I was 12 years old. You do not know what he told me … but nevermind … I apologize to all those to whom I have to ask, because I was wrong”, was the Brazilian’s message.
The Brazilian’s actions have led to widespread criticism by fottball fans all over the globe.
Just seen the Douglas Costa spitting incident, vile, vile and vile 🤢 I’d rather be punched in the face repeatedly than have anyone spit at me…… it’s sickening

Spitting is one of the vilest things you can do to a fellow human being and I hope that Douglas Costa gets a lengthy ban because there is no need for it
