Kofi Annan gets a beffiting send off

 

Former UN chief Kofi Annan to be buried today in Ghana. The Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary General of the United Nations died last month at the age of 80 years.

Leaders from different parts of the world came together to give their final tributes as the joined the rest of the word in mourning the global icon. Annan’s body was flown to Accra, Ghana two days ago where world leaders are expected to attend his state funeral, before laying his body to rest.

Both local and foreign leaders took to their social media platforms to give their sentiments about losing a leader who was a peace maker and a man of integrity.

According the Ministry of Information,the burial service and final interments of the late Kofi Annan will be done today. This will mark the end of the 3 days of mourning which began on Monday.

According to a tweet that was shared on the late Kofi Annan’s twitter account, his burial will be followed by memorial services in New York City and Geneva on later dates.

Kofi Annan will be remembered for his legacy and his efforts to make the world a better place. His leadership and service to humanity and the world at large was of impact within and beyond the African Continent.
